What's involved in being a philanthropist?

Are there any
philanthropists
left in Singapore? Because if there are, from where I stand, I can't see them.
Being a philanthropists in Singapore is definitely not easy. A philanthropist would need to have
money
time
compassion
wisdom
well connected in terms of resources
All of which, I think is necessary to extend help to other people who are in need of
food
education
sympathy
knowledge / courage
resources such as money, job, cure for diseases
Sigh... If only I knew where these philanthropists can be contacted, and how I can send people in need of help to them.
