I met up with Daniel on Friday as I hadn't seen him for a long time. He has finally closed down his jewellery business. Quite a pity, I thought, as he had a niche market, creating custom design pieces of jewellery for people who can afford it.

We had lunch at the Tanjong Pagar hawker centre, just outside Tanjong Pagar MRT station. Daniel was surprised that I'm into lots of other stuff as well, and while tucking into our food of sliced-fish handmade noodles, we discussed about the biblical Sodom and Gomorrah, from which the word sodomy was derived.

Daniel found it puzzling that Lot had to offer his virginal daughters to the men of Sodom and Gomorrah, when they sought for the comfort of the two angels. Indeed, he found it puzzling that God had done nothing to Lot (who wanted to sacrifice his daughters in exchange for the safety of the angels). He also found it puzzling that the angels had to be protected from the men of Sodom and Gomorrah, when the angels had the ability to blind them.
