Since Sep 2009, my Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 hard disk has been failing with the error message “Windows – Delayed Write Failed : Windows was unable to save all the data for the file E:\$Mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.”

I had thought this was due to me stressing the hard disk by keeping it running 24x7 since Aug 2008. However, it was really a Seagate firmware issue. Symptoms of this issue included occasional long pause when reading from/writing to the Seagate hard disk, the computer not being responsive, mouse not moving and so on.

Hence, my blog was down for the past 2 weeks for me to fix it. Only since Tuesday was I able to complete fixing the issue.

During the past 2 weeks, I have been writing my thoughts on my phone, so pretty soon you’ll see quite a few blog entries dated within the past 2 weeks.

One good thing that came out of this was my renewed contact with an ex-classmate, whom I haven't met for 14-16 years. When I last blogged on friendship, I wasn't expecting this, and heh, I'm counting my lucky stars that I have pretty good friends, and friends that withstood the test of time.
