Last night, I was told that I'm being screened. Once I passed screening, I will be made a member and passed the baton to chair a fund.
In another discussion, we discussed about the issues of having a maid.
Years ago, when they had a maid, Albert had to call Adeline before going home. As a precautious measure, if Adeline wasn't home, Albert wouldn't want to go home, as he didn't want any trouble with the maid. The thinking was that the maid could accuse him of anything.
Suppose you hired a maid, found the maid inadequate, and sent the maid back to the maid agency. While at the agency, the maid fell down, and had to be sent for a check-up. During the check-up, it was discovered that the maid had a tumour. Who bears the medical cost?
The agency, or the employer?
If the agency, why?If the employer, why?
In yet another discussion, it was said that if you discover that the maid is pregnant, don't bother informing the agency. Quickly buy the maid a ticket and send the maid home, even to the point of ensuring that the maid passes immigration. Otherwise, one could get into endless sort of problems, including getting the maid's bond forfeited.
I find these discussions very interesting and educating.
