These days, it seems to me people aren't reading full sentences, or aren't capable of reading a sentence strung with an "and".
I've encountered many people who, when presented with such a request in an email,
"Please do this and do that"
responded with,
"I've done this",
which of course, necessitates another email with
"Please do that".
And in order to ensure that the respondent gets everything done, these days, I've started numbering everything, like so:
I feel I'm treating these respondents like idiots, but I don't seem to have a choice. Years ago, when I was in the service, I was puzzled why every point in a letter seemed to be numbered.
Now I understand.
