Is it that hard to get a HTC live set to be shown?

For the past month, I've been visiting mobile shops, looking for an actual live set of HTC Touch Diamond. And guess what? No one can show me a live set! All I'm shown is a demo set, that's just a plastic cover costing probably $10 or so to manufacture.

Frankly speaking, HTC sucks in this aspect. Without a contract, HTC Touch Diamond retails for over $1000. Would anyone in the right mind buy a mobile phone without even having tested it?

I think not.
