While having dinner somewhere in Jurong, a person said he's a taxi re-possessor, and there was once where he had to repossess a taxi. He went to the person's place, and was shocked that the family was having their meal, with bread dipped in (literally) sugar water.
In another incident, he mentioned that there are unsympathetic lawyers, and sympathetic judges in Singapore. This person owes a company $1000, and he suggested monthly repayments of $20, and in fact, began to make monthly payments. He was sent a lawyer letter, and then, due to compounded interest and lawyer fees, he owed $6000. So, he was sent to court, and the judge was sympathetic, and reduced everything back to $1000.
