Someone once said that you spot an entrepreneur by looking at the wounds from the arrows he/she received.
I'd say, you spot an entrepreneur by looking at how broke he/she is.
By training, I'm an electrical engineer.
By profession, I'm an IT professional, systems engineer, systems administrator, systems analyst, technical consultant, software architect, among others.
By trade, I'm now an entrepreneur / technopreneur, importer / exporter, etc.
By finance, I'm somewhat on the low side. ;o)
Let's look at my acquisitions over the past few years.
Adding them up, it comes to $26321.
What do these products mean? It means that, with these products, I am able to develop software for Windows, Linux, Solaris, Mac, and other OS. It also means I can develop web solutions, standalone applications, networked applications, among others. Technology-wise, it means I can develop for Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), or Java (J2SE), the Microsoft .NET framework (.NET) which includes .NET applications and ASP.NET, among others.
Recently, I've also acquired distribution rights in Singapore for a Wireless Media Player. With the wireless media player (which requires a PC), the player can be used to play the entire collection of songs on the PC itself. The player can be placed anywhere, hooked to your audio system, etc. It comes with a remote control too.
The price of the player is about S$650. I'm going to stock myself with 10 of these players initially.
