With a wireless network, one can easily set up a connection with a device that hooks to one's audio/speaker set, and use one's computer as a server to broadcast music to anywhere in the house. How cool is that?

One of the devices is D-Link's MediaLounge. I am considering importing this product into Singapore, or obtaining distribution rights for this. There are two versions: wired, or wireless. They connect to your computer network, and you play your music using an infrared remote control pointing at the device.

You place your device under the TV, or beside it, and connect it to the audio system. Then, you connect your device to the PC network. Do some simple configuration on the computer and play music by using the remote control supplied together with the product. Other versions of the network media player by other companies do even better. You do not need to connect it to the TV at all.

While I pondered the economics of this, one friend advised me not to do it, while my brother advised that economy of scale might/might not work against me.
