One of the things I've observed is that most SMEs seem not to require IT people. Why? Because they don't have lots of problems all the time. Their IT infrastructure remains stable, they rely on the same old good programs, and they don't add or change their configuration often.
One of the things I'm considering to offer is providing 140 hours of IT technical support for $5000. The offer provides for a response within 4 hours, and resolution within 3 days. The 140 hours of support, which can be spread over a year, can be IT administration, infrastructure setup, design, or others.
Coming from a freelance CCNA and MCSE person, that seems to be a good deal.
In preparation to begin dabbling into Linux (again!), I've registered myself at the Linux Professional Institute, so I'm now a Linux Professional. I lost touch with Linux about 2 years ago, and I am considering using it again.
If and when I do, I will definitely add Mono to the list of things to install.
