Another power failure occured last night. This time, the places involved include Commonwealth Close, Sengkang and Punggol.
The estimated time of power failure is around 10pm. According to Straits Times, the Energy Market Authority claimed that the blackout was caused by the disruption of supply of natural gas from Indonesia.
That's quite a novel way of putting the blame on someone else. If you did not close your door and lock it when you leave your home, and you come back to find it burgled, would it blame your neighbour for not keeping watch? Blame the thief? Or blame yourself for not closing the door and locking it?
As a Singaporean, I find it pathetic, and saddening that despite our country's best attempts at protecting itself, investing as much as 10% of the GDP every year, any other party / group can attack Singapore just by cutting off it's natural gas supply.
