Wasn't able to sleep. Must be the coffee I had in the evening, when I had dinner at the food court. I had kway chap for $10, for a total of 4 persons.
I was quite irritated with a particular IP address. This IP address had been monitoring my blog since 27th of May. I think that's okay, but guess what this user did? This user actually checks my blog for updates every 2 minutes!
With 1440 minutes every day, that meant this user was checking my blog 720 times per day. I finally got irritated enough that I set IIS to block this particular IP from accessing my website. But then, since IIS is set to log all accesses, be it successful or not, I'm still getting HTTP 403 from this guy in my IIS log 720 times a day!!!
Using IPSec to block IP addressesI finally got irritated enough that I took the trouble of enabling IPSec (as a system service) which I had disabled previously (because I took the time to lockdown my system services), and using it to block this particular IP from accessing any portion of my subnet.
I'm pretty amazed that IPSec is so easy to setup. ;o) But then, I'm a MCSE 2000, and soon to be MCSE 2003.
