Last Saturday, met up with a sales director and another person, Andy Leong, whose title is not known, at Suntec City. This discussion centers on the migration stuff and issues for a particular Govt contract we will be working on if we win the contract. Given the fact that if any of the bidding vendors succeed, they would have to work with me, I think it would be worth my time, and effort, to ensure that if I have a project now, it would last until July. If not, I would concentrate on shoring up my software development, and system administration knowledge, and also work on getting more certifications, in order to validate what I've learnt. Eventually, in 4 years, I would be nearer to my goal of being a millionaire.
After the discussion is completed, tried to look around at Suntec City for the beef noodle stall, unfortunately, the whole food court at the basement level of Suntec has disappeared!
So, I went to Funan Centre, and all the food stalls have been replaced! Argh! There goes my beef soup. Next, I travelled to Tampines for it's famous Kallang mutton (not kambing) soup. Met up with Daniel, and ordered $5 worth of soup, and a bowl of rice. Around 7pm, we boarded the train to Pasir Ris, and I bidded Daniel good bye after we left the station.
Proceeded to Downtown East, and was surprised at how much it's changed. It's now more of a shopping, eating and gaming mall than a resort. Of course, the resort is still there.
The point of going to Downtown East, is that we had a gathering. We, being my Tampines secondary school classmates of 1986-1989. Those who were there: Weiqiang, Weixiong, Sebastian, Guoliang, Ronghua, Fugui, Zaikun, Jinghua, Chunfeng, Ruifa, and can't remember who else, other than me and my brother.
Amazingly, of all this group, no one smoked.
In 1989, a friend, Hock Koon, brought some of us to work in a company. Weiqiang, being one of those, worked there during his school holidays, Poly holidays, and shortly before he ORD, the company called him up to work for them. He has been there since, and is now Number Two. So, I was there, working for only 5 days, while Weiqiang, has been there for 13 years.
