Some time ago, I noticed that the trashcans at all the MRT stations disappeared. Until now, I believe there were no announcements made, to the effect of why these trashcans disappeared.

If the trashcans were removed simply to handle a terrorist threat, it should be noted that each MRT station is a place that has plenty of places to place a destructive device. Every cranny and nook found in the MRT station can be so used. How many cameras does each MRT station have? I don't think it's more than a dozen.

How silly is removing all the trashcans? Very silly I think! Now, all the MRT commuters have to throw their rubbish somewhere. Would everyone have the patience to take their trash and throw it somewhere else outside a MRT station?

I don't think so.

The SMRT authority should really consider putting back all the trashcans.
