Nearly 2 years ago, I made two friends while chatting on IRC. One, a guy, and the other, a girl. The guy's name is Ah Zai. The girl's, Diane. We agreed to go for satay that night. However, only Diane turned up, Ah Zai did not.
Diane was an attractive, dark and slim, Chinese girl. She was 19 or 20 at that time. She was also a smoker. We had satay, chatted for a while, and parted company.
Today, Diane called me up from her home, and asked if I remember her. Without hesitation, I told her, yes, and she asked when we met. So, without hesitation again, I told her, we met for satay. She then told me the purpose of her call: to garner votes. She is now one of the top 10 finalists in a songwriting competition by Channel News Asia. I searched around the Internet using “Get Real” for a while, before I managed to locate what she was talking about. I didn't know that her full name is Williams Diane Lin.
I'll be watching Channel News Asia this Saturday to watch Diane sing her song.
