Today is the last day of Week 9 of the Year 2005.

This week, I met Boon Keat and Hui Meng. These guys thought that my joining of a particular organization would signal the end of civilization as they know it. Hui Meng has proposed to his management that I join his company in a skunkworks project involving High Performance Computing, and Linux Clusters. In addition, he has given me a list of resources to read, in order to understand the concepts involved.

I'm supposed to attend a local area meeting on the 2nd, but these guys screwed it up by sending the mail to me on the 1st, ie, last minute, so I couldn't attend the meeting, since by the time I've received and read the letter, the meeting's over.

The IT manager for a retail company has upped the stakes of the project by including the setting up, implementation, and migration of Microsoft Exchange server, hence increasing the difficulty involved in it. Normally, I wouldn't be concerned about this, since I've performed these tasks before. However, the devil's in the details, and without the detailed information of what features they're using in their current setup, I have absolutely no idea the level of involvement, depth of work and time involved. This project, when it goes through, will earn me more than 3 month's pay for less than 1/2 month's work.

One of my blog readers (resourceful as she is) managed to get hold of my phone number, and called me up to ask me certain questions, unfortunately, since I was travelling in the MRT when it was going into the tunnel, and I sensed that the signal would be going, so, I managed to mutter a "Sorry...", before the signal got cut off, and that was the end of it.

Spend quite a number of days this week to fix my wife's computer, set up the operating system, and migrate the data (and so on...) as the weather's getting to the harddisk, causing it to go "glok, glok" when switching it on.

Then, I met up with Masoud Kamali, Managing Director of a publishing firm from Germany, who contacted me through Malcolm Groves, Asia Pacific Director, Borland to see how I could fit into his plans for a conference to be organized in May.

Finally, met up with my brother this afternoon for lunch. Mysteriously, 2 SMS messages sent to him from my handphone did not appear on his phone.

I should use words and phrases such as these, "splendid", "absolutely", "fabulous", "turbine", "mai ngeh ngeh lai hor" more often... It expresses and reflects my mood at a certain period of the day accurately.
