I administer and maintain the entire server that receives mail for blogs hosted on this domain, administer and maintain the database that runs this blog, administer and maintain the webserver that runs this blog, and tune the settings so that this blog server can run properly, and quickly. Blah blah blah blah blah... (my point: I administer the server!) ;o)

So, while going through the webserver logs, I noticed this referer. So, I visited the site, which is a blog by Jaclyn Lim. So, I thought I was going to add her to my blogroll, when I noticed that I've previously added her before. Previously moo-moo land, she has since renamed the blog to uprooted. An interesting read on Fantasy and Real Life. The fantasy part, of course, sounds something like what the gallant Dr Sam Beckett from Quantum Leap would do. Her writings are excellent. I first read Quantum Leap between 1989 - 1991. It was the first story that made me cry. Yes, not weep, but cry.

Jaclyn wrote an interesting article on Committee Lobbies for Asian Olympic Games Inclusion - The Merlion Times, totally fictitious of course. Notice the “I want to play” theme spread out in several languages, including Malay: Saya binte Main (I, daughter of Play), Cantonese: Ngor Yew Wan (I want to play), Japanese: Watashi Ha Asobitai (I had some training in Japanese, but I can't decipher what that means, except for watashi, which means “I”).

Speaking of Olympics, the Olympics, other than being a game of play, is also an international event of orgy. Check out Sports Illustrated's article on “Game athletes to be given free condoms”, and Scotman.com's “Let the games begin”. The articles explained it all. Perfect human form, full of energy, with caloric intakes of 9000 per day (us average people take in only about 3600 per day, or about 1200 per meal), ready to unleash in a moment of notice. So, what do they do? Read the articles to find out.

And now, I've an idea I would like to work on.

  • hi, thanks for the mention and compliment. :) i'll really like to meet dr sam beckett then!
  • Well, we all hope to meet Sam, but, he's on a busy schedule.

If somewhere, someday, you get into trouble, and someone there's helping you, giving you advices, trying to steer you away from doing this or doing that, take a good look at that person. He/She might just well be Dr Sam Beckett.

Check out these two posts: Quantum Leap: A tale of table tennis, and Quantum Leap: Persistence and tenacity, available at http://chuacw.hn.org/chewy/archive/2004/03/14/365.aspx and http://chuacw.hn.org/chewy/archive/2004/03/19/379.aspx respectively.
