I was going through the logs for my blogs, when I noticed that there were many people searching for “Singapore Poems”, “poems about Singapore”, etc, that I'm thinking of setting up a forum solely for Singaporean poems.

Days ago, I created the Singapore Handphones Forum. So far, one person have signed up. I need to publicize the forum further so that it's growth can be further accelerated.

About 2-3 weeks ago, I met Francis, who's a dealer in 2nd hand PC items. We met up one night, around 9-10pm, near his place, and discussed about going into a partnership. Since Francis deals with hardware, I'm certain that the partnership can leverage my expertise (I'm CCNA, MCSE, SCJP, SCSA) in software development, setting up of network infrastructure, deployment, implementation, and providing value added services with 2nd hand items. Generally, these items are network bridges, routers, PCs, printers, Sun systems (like E450), etc. My idea would be to leverage Francis' skills and social network in acquisition of hardware items to provide refurbished systems, network infrastructure, and customized software.

I met Roger Lim about 1-2 weeks back, after nearly 14 years of not having seen each other. We first met in a Christmas gathering, organized by Poon Chia Wee, some time in 1990. That time, we were both users of a certain bulletin board system (BBS). Anyway, Roger Lim is CEO of Webvisions, a webhosting company. In 1996-1997, Roger left his systems engineer position and started Webvisions as a business. Coincidentally, he used the same business address that I eventually used for my business at Beach Road.

Searching through the newsgroups, I have gained a picture into how Roger created his web hosting business, and company. However, I would not disclose them here.

Having given Roger my namecard, he has contacted me some time ago to see whether we could work together, for me to provide software services for his company.

Recently, I have also contacted Borland Singapore to check on the progress of a certain business deal with another vendor, and a Government ministry. However, they have not gotten back to me.
