Hmm, I think I underquoted again. For setup of a Microsoft SQL and Windows Cluster, I quoted $3000. How so? Smigle mentioned that the recovery of a File and Print Server cost $2000. Setting up a SQL and Windows cluster takes much more effort than that. The retailer decided not to take up the Exchange deployment offer, as it's an additional 4 times higher.
While having a discussion after the meeting at the institute somewhere in Kallang, I asked Smigle for payment, and he claimed to have forgotten again. So, in the car, I jokingly mentioned charging a percentage of interest, and he asked me not to. That'll teach Scrooge, should I really decide to take such a drastic measure.
On Friday, when Smigle's on his day off in order to attend his son's sports event, he SMS me to say that the cheque was sent in the post the day before. Having not received it on Friday or Saturday, I then wrote him an email on Saturday evening, informing him that the next time we meet, the payment should be ready, otherwise, I'll need to see Scrooge the next day to thrash out the issue with him.
