While installing Solaris 10 x86 64 on VMware, I encountered the error message "cpu is too fast" or something similar.

The solution, is to edit the file: config.ini located in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VMware\VMware server

And add the following lines:

host.cpukHz = 2000000
host.noTSC = TRUE
ptsc.noTSC = TRUE

After the changes are made, the VMware needs to be restarted, if it's already running while the editing was taking place.

Now, I can continue my Solaris 10 x86 installation.
