    A 30+ year mystery...

In the 70s, there was a piece of music which was often played at my grandmother's place at Florence / Flower Road. Even though I had no idea what the name of the musical piece was, the music itself became etched into my memory.

Tonight, I was going from Takashimaya to Paragon when I noticed a lady sitting on a motorized vehicle near the bushes, playing enchanting musical pieces with the pipa (琵琶). I stood there, enchanted. I stood there for a significant amount of time, and enjoyed listening to her playing music. After a while, I approached her, and noting that there was a CD in front of her donation box, asked if she's selling the CD, and if so, at what price. She replied $20, and so, I asked for one, paid her $20, thanked her, and went on my way.

When I came home and played the CD, I was surprised to discover that the musical piece I have heard in the 70s, is actually The Godfather's Speak Softly, Love, once again, proving my observation, that decades after a piece of music became popular, I would listen to it.
