This blog entry is for the closure of my friendship for the person named Vivien Chua.
Vivien Chua is a classmate from my counselling class. She first contacted me on Facebook on March 26 and I added her. She started exchanging SMS regularly with me in May. And it became
daily, beginning in June. When I was depressed on 10 Jun, she sent a
few SMS to cheer me up. We grew closer after that and began exchanging
history.
Details of family issues in June and July which affected our friendship is left out.
The issue that destroyed our friendship was the argument stemming
between her and Hui Ying. What apparently happened was that Hui Ying
sent some SMS to Tee, which Tee forwarded to Vivien. Vivien got
incensed by Hui Ying's SMS and confronted her on the Friday evening the
group video project was completed. While Hui Ying was defensive, she reluctantly apologized to Vivien over
the SMS. I believed Vivien felt she wanted me to voice my opinion on
the issue. For the first time in my life, I was neutral and said that
they both should have approached each other and voice out their
opinions.
They hugged and the evening ended apparently like that.
Some days later, during one of the class breaks, Chang Yip and
Julianna were smoking and I joined them at their table. When the
quarrel was brought up, I expressed my frustrations, feelings and
opinions. I believed Julianna then conveyed these to Vivien
subsequently. Vivien then felt that I betrayed her. Despite telling her
the truth, she didn't believe me and chose to terminate our friendship.
The above are what I believed to be an accurate representation of
what had transpired from my perspective, sans the emotions involved.
As the feelings involved are too complex, I choose not to record
these feelings. I would probably remember them, however, if years down
the road, I do not remember the feelings involved, I would without a
doubt, remember the facts involved as this blog entry would remind me.
And thus, what could probably be a great friendship ended...
In addition, what spoilt the relationship was that Vivien tried seducing me several times, telling me that she "wanna get closer to you" over several conversations and when I asked her what she meant, she said she wanted to have sex with me. She once mentioned that Eugene told the gals in the class that a married woman is infatuated with him, and without anyone accusing or asking if it was her, she immediately began clarifying that it wasn't her.
