After upgrading to the Android SDK 1.6, and upgrading my Android phone to Android 1.6, I was puzzled why my SMS Backup application stopped working, as it wasn't able to write to the SD card, until I realize that I was blocked by the Android's permission system.
Adding the android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE to the manifest solved the problem.
