I've recently updated “My RSS Reader” to fix the most important issue, which is, the UI freezes when feeds are being retrieved.
So, I need to update the software package. I was using MimarSinan International's InstallAWARE Enterprise. I ran into some slight problems, and over several days, I wrote to Sinan. He was very responsive, responding, typically, within less than a day. Most of the time, his replies are within 12 hours, since he and I lived on different continents, while I'm asleep, he replies to my emails, and while he's asleep, I sent him emails. On evenings, when I send him emails, his replies are within an hour.
The first time I used InstallAWARE Enterprise, I completed packaging my software in under twenty minutes. It's a most professional software installer, much easier to use than InstallShield.
In 2017, with the release of Delphi 10.2 Tokyo, Embarcadero introduced a specialized implementation of the Observer pattern into the System.Classes unit. While it has been in the wild for 9 years, it remains a "hidden" architecture for many, primarily because it serves as the invisible engine behind LiveBindings. Other than live bindings, you can also use the Observer pattern as a way to update component settings to the Windows registry, an .ini file, or persist it elsewhere.
