Some years ago, while working, I had lost my vision temporarily. Suddenly, I wasn't able to see at all. As I was the only one in the surrounding area, I decided not to move about, as the area was full of heavy equipment, and stood there for quite a long time, paralyzed and shocked by the fear of having lost my vision. While standing there, I was wondering what would happen if nobody came to check on me. Fortunately, a colleague came to check on me and see how I was doing. When I told my colleague I wasn't able to see, my colleague immediately held my hand, and walked me to the medical centre and told the medical staff that I couldn't see. My whole body was pretty tense. It was a confusing time, as I was then sent to a hospital for a medical check-up. It was when I finally reached the hospital and laid down on a bed, that I relaxed and fell asleep, having tired myself out from the tenseness earlier. I didn't know what was going to happen. When I woke up, I could see again, and I wanted to be discharged, however, the doctors insisted that I stayed as they want to run checks on me. They did a CAT scan and then a MRI scan, before I was informed that I have a brain tumour, and told me that I needed to be warded for further observations. However, the doctors couldn't identify whether the tumour is benign or malignant. The doctor explained that the brain tumour could be the reason why I have an issue. I stayed in the hospital for about three to five days, and was visited by colleagues at that time. My manager also visited me and told me not to worry about my work, as it would be reassigned to someone else. It did not occur to me to worry about my work at that time.

Looking back, I took the discovery of the brain tumour in my stride, and thought it explained the reason for an issue that I have. Subsequently, I went for a medical follow-up every half a year for about two years, and each time, I was told that there was no change in the brain tumour, but it could change anytime. I stopped going for check-ups after that, as I wanted to make the best use of my life left.
