I have been approached to go to a Data Center and install WebTrends for a few hundred dollars. ;o)

WebTrends is an application that is used to monitor visits to a website, and generate pretty reports.

Installation and testing should be within a day. I've sent a list of questions to the customer so as to understand the business requirements better. I asked for business requirements, instead of technical requirements and questions because, if they had someone who knew how to do it technically, they wouldn't be asking me.

Besides, I know that sometimes, people working in DCs are paid too lowly to bother declaring that they know how to do some stuff anyway. ;o) If they declare that they know, they'll be exploited, like what my friend said here, in the article, "a wake up call to Singaporeans".

In addition, the management of people working in DCs sometimes have funny regulations and policies that prevent smart people from doing anything. If you're a system administrator / engineer in a DC, even though you're the one who's supposed to be administering the system, certain management impose odd regulations, such as, "if you want to change a setting, even though it doesn't affect me and is none of my business, inform me and get my permission first, before doing it!" The rule in DCs is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Ha ha, all the better for me, since all these odd regulations and rules make it easier for me to earn money!
