I've always been straight forward, to the point that when I was asked, several years ago, if my name is "X" (replace with my surname), I answered, "No, my name is Y" (replace with my name). Of course, the guy was reading from my name tag on my left pocket.

It would appear to others that whenever I answer a question in a most straight forward and efficient manner, a lot of people cannot handle the straight forwardness.

Recently, I refused to continue a software development project by replying with the following text: "If you want me to develop further, pay first. Until now, I've not been paid the remainder for the development of the work. I will hold off further developments until I'm paid."

This was interpreted as aggression - "On a personal note, I detect your aggression"

I was quite tempted at this point to reply that "If your personal note was correct, you'll be a doctor/psychiatrist earning $300,000 or more per year, and I'll have many more people to recommend to you as patients."

People who want honesty coupled with efficiency should be prepared to handle them.
